The product
The production of venom with a high degree of purity involves several stages, the use of highly qualified personnel, and the employment of advanced technical equipment.

Packaging for transporting glass vials of Hymenoptera venom

Operator collecting live insects
Collection
Entomon relies on insect suppliers from around the world who each year capture, store, and deliver tens of thousands of frozen specimens.

Operator during the extraction process
Venom extraction process
Venom extraction is carried out using the registered procedure “Entomon Capillary Extracted Venom®”. The venom is manually extracted from each specimen. The venom sac is smaller than the head of a pin and contains between 50 and 100 micrograms of venom.
Producing just 1 gram (1,000 mg) of raw material requires up to 20,000 insects and a 45-day working period.

Laboratory operators
Production process
For each batch, the venom extracted daily is collected, quantified through protein assay, and then divided into glass vials for lyophilization. The lyophilized venom batches are stored at -20°C.
Every step is performed manually, and supervision by specialized personnel ensures direct quality control of the product.

Release of the product
Before being released and provided with a Certificate of Analysis (CoA), each batch must pass numerous quality controls, including protein assay verification, vial weight, residual moisture, and electrophoretic analysis.

Insulated container for transporting venom extracts
Transport
Transport is carried out under refrigerated conditions with delivery within 24 hours, using insulated containers equipped with synthetic ice packs.
The temperature during transport is recorded by a data logger, from which data and graphs can be downloaded.
